Draft

You have reached the right place to comment on the proposed CoTech Constitution.

Currently this is in draft form being worked on at the Wortley Hall Gathering 2017. Leutha (talk) 18:51, 28 November 2017 (UTC)

UK Based Co-ops?

When we have had enquiries from co-ops outside the UK we have said that CoTech is for UK based co-ops (including international / multi-national co-ops with people based in the UK?) — this is missing from the draft as of 4th Dec 2017. — Chris (talk) 13:50, 4 December 2017 (UTC)

OK fair point but could we also welcome co-ops from abroad? Could we perhaps add this to the point about the importance of co-ops being prepared to attend the AGMs? — Jonathan (talk) 21:32, 4 December 2017 (UTC)

I'd be interested to understand the rationale for limiting membership to UK-based entities. --Graham (talk) 09:53, 5 December 2017 (UTC)

Equality

Can we mention something about mutual respect / equality / welcoming diversity etc as a fundamental principle of the network? It isn't explicit and I personally think it should be so our approach is quite clear. how about in the opening paragraph:

Either in Who are we? We believe in mutual respect, in treating everyone fairly and equally and we welcome diversity

or (more minimal)

What is expected of you as a member? Treat everyone fairly and with respect and be sensitive to other people's needs

... or something.

Some work on this has started, see Accessibility and Care. Leutha (talk) 22:00, 4 December 2017 (UTC)

I think there should be an explicit link to the manifesto statement, which provides a vision for the existence of the network, and also makes fairness/equality central to the network. --Graham (talk) 15:34, 6 December 2017 (UTC)

✔️ Done. Leutha (talk) 21:26, 6 December 2017 (UTC)

What constitutes a member decision?

Can we add to the list (currently 3 items), as the beginnings of a dissolution clause, something like "dissolution of the organisation"?? — Jonathan (talk) 21:41, 4 December 2017 (UTC)
