Gitlab

Outlandish and Webarchitects [1] both run a Gitlab server, but with different strategies. Some co-ops are relying on the CI elements of Gitlab which would be necessary if we want to share a Gitlab instance.

Coops can use git.coop to share code. To get an account you need to be a member of WebArch, this starts at £1. Some coops already have Open Source code GitHub, but there might be stuff that we only want to share with other coops. Useful things to share:

  • Ansible
  • OpenShift config

OpenShift

Outlanish have received funding from the EU to investigate using OpenShift for small businesses/co-ops. They have been experimenting extensively with OpenShift after evaluating various platforms.

OpenStack

Autonomic have been investigating OpenStack for provisioning VPS/Containers. Perhaps this has less density than OpenShift but small co-operatives can't necessarily spend ages trying to dockerise problematic applications.
